The doors to THE DANCE WAREHOUSE are OPEN!

The doors to THE DANCE WAREHOUSE are OPEN!

(But first some blood, sweat, tears and love…)

After coaching young dancers for twenty-four years, the time has finally arrived to offer classes in our very own custom-designed dance studios in Wollongbar.

I have dreamt about this project for months – years! And we spent at least a year developing plans and gaining approval from council. Just after our concert last year, we could finally begin developing our new space in the Palm Shopping Centre, Wollongbar.

My husband Andy, myself, a team of at least twenty volunteers, our teachers and local tradespeople worked tirelessly over eight weeks.

We had a lot of fun along the way. But there were a few glitches!

The special vinyl dance tarket weighing 100kg per roll was the first thing to arrive. And the last thing to be installed! So we needed to ship it around the space as we worked.

The exterior glass doors were one of the first things installed. But were installed the wrong way! We needed to wait until after the Christmas break to have them installed correctly. And they were, just two days before opening!

The plumbers were called in to relocate some pipes to allow for the mirrors installation. We waited a few weeks, because of the holiday break. When they at last arrived, we realised we in fact needed an electrician!

It was a challenging time to commence a building project, because over Christmas, tradespeople have less time available. But we were extremely fortunate, as those we worked with gave us as much time as they could. Our volunteers and teachers worked especially hard over the last weekend so we could open on time.

And after six weeks working well into the wee hours of the morning, we opened our doors for our very first class – having only finished the last clean an hour before!

The Dance Warehouse has two fully air-conditioned studios with purpose built semi-sprung floating dance floors, special dance Vinyl Tarkett, fixed barres and mirrors and a lovely waiting area. The space is designed to help dancers realise their potential, and bring young dancers from the Wollongbar community together. We hope, that by being a safe walking distance from the Wollongbar Public School (directly across the road), Balletcoaching@The Dance Warehouse can offer our community a fun way to build physical strength, cognitive development, and most of all, a love of dance, music and the arts.

Balletcoaching@The Dance Warehouse offers children's dance classes for all ages, from pre-schoolers’ creative movement classes (both mornings and afternoon class options available to choose from to fit in your busy schedules), to kids and teens recreational dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Performance classes. For the dedicated vocational student, Balletcoaching@The Dance Warehouse offers a specialised coaching and mentoring program tailored specifically to the student.

Balletcoaching@The Dance Warehouse is very proud to offer a flexible Adult program of Ballet Barre and Pilates Ball Fitness Classes 4 days a week both mornings and evenings Class options are available to suit the busiest of programs.
The Kids and Teens program offers well priced term fee payments and the Adult program offers a cost effective 5 class pass valid for 3 months for any of the Adult classes available with plans to bring in Yoga in Term 2.

We would like to especially thank our local tradies and businesses for supporting a local small business and their special care and consideration and we ask you in turn to support them.
