From Ballet Foundation.... Some dancers are gifted with a very beautiful foot- the downside is it is often weak and difficult to begin pointe work with. The weakness comes from the top of the foot being extremely flexible, but not strong enough to support.
WOW! All dance teachers, students and parent sit up and take note... New Eisteddfod rules to be introduced in 2014 :
Sunshine Coast Dance Eisteddfod president Jason King said "We have unanimously decided students must wear a pair of flesh tights and to avoid the overextended (turned in/inverted) mount with the crotch facing the audience,"
"Regardless of current trends in this country or others, certain dance moves are too revealing to be considered appropriate. We are confident other eisteddfods will follow suit."
The Core Ingredients in Performing a Perfect Tendu Are:
1. Mastery of subtle, dynamic core control
2. Awareness and endurance of your standing leg turnout muscles
3. Control of the position of the supporting knee
4. Articulation of the ankle and mid foot
6. The ability to maintain length in the toes while fully working the ball of the foot
Add a beautiful port de bras to all of that and you have the perfect tendu!
The things dancers are expected to endure in China! Deciding there was too great a risk of injury from dancing in cold temperatures, with 10C inside the Tianjin theatre two performances were cancelled after which the Tianjin Grand Theatre reportedly locked the company out and stopped it from retrieving its property.
The incredibly inspiring and talented Louise Deleur! May we have many more seasons to come from you! Thankyou Lucid Dance
