Adult Ballet Classes

Ballet is not only a graceful, elegant form of dance, it can also be a great way to stay in shape. Ballet provides tremendous benefits in terms of health, emotional and mental well-being.

In addition to being great fun, dancing makes you smarter.

Learning steps and executing them to music stimulates learning centres in your brain and encourages enhanced communication between the left and right brain hemispheres. Read about the research here.

Ballet brings increased health benefits.

Ballet is a low impact alternative to the gym, and improves flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, stamina, muscle tone, mobility, core strength, mood and self-esteem. It enhances psychological and physical well-being, reduced stress levels. Improved posture and balance assist in the prevention of osteoporosis.

Ballet is not just for the young and athletic.

Ballet is a fun, physically challenging workout for those that aren’t necessarily trying to become a professional dancer. In our classes, you will discover freedom to express yourself emotionally, visually, and physically.

One-to-one ballet coaching for students from age 8 to 88 and beyond is available in the Alstonville studio, with flexible daytime and evening appointments available to suit your busy lifestyle. Additionally adult group classes are held at Wollongbar Hall on Mondays at 9.30am and on Wednesdays at 6pm.
